London is…

Arriving at Heathrow on the day of Margaret Thatcher’s funeral, I went straight to the Victoria and Albert Museum for the “David Bowie is” Exhibition, where I spent four hours travelling through the life of David Bowie. Sorry, but no photos were allowed in the exhibit, though I’ve included one shot from my iPhone. It was an amazing exhibit and I highly recommend trying to see it, though tickets are very hard to get. The V&A said that the show sold out faster than any show they have ever had! Due to the funeral and a 3 hour drive to where my Mum and Brother live, I got out of London right away, with plans to return before heading home.

Two weeks later, I spent my last day/night in London. Trains, tubes and a lot of walking from Hyde Park to Harrods, from Heddon Street (another David Bowie stop) to Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament, from Trafalgar Square to the lights of Picadilly Circus and Tower Bridge. I hope you enjoy this mini tour of the City of London.

A friend reminded me this morning of a song I have always always loved, such a beautiful song and it’s so appropriate to add to this post… I hope you enjoy it too!

So how can you tell me you’re lonely,
And say for you that the sun don’t shine?
Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London
I’ll show you something to make you change your mind

And thanks… friend! 😉

*I’ve been referring to this trip as the B4 trip, Birthday + Brother + Bowie + Britain = Brilliant, as I decided to spend my birthday this year with my twin brother and to also treat myself to a ticket to the David Bowie is Exhibit in London, England.
