Ode to my Window Cleaner

Hey!! Mr. Window Cleaner…
Thank you… for dropping in… I uh, well…
I wasn’t expecting you…
to be hanging there…
outside my window…
so early…
Let me… uhhh,
Let me go…
put on some clothes….

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day

From the sky you arrive, and look at our lives,
through the dirt and the grime of the city.
You splash on your suds, you wipe them away,
bearing witness, to our little soap opera lives,
as they play out, on your big screen hi-rise.
So yeah, ummm, thank you,
thank you for clearing things up!
I was beginning to think that I…
that I’d fallen into a darkness…
a dark cloud, from which there was no escape.
But, I can see clearly now, the darkness was just from…
looking through this window, darkly,
and not seeing, the real obstacles, that were in my way….

Oh yes I can make it now, the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is the rainbow I’ve been prayin’ for
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day

I can finally see through the pain!
It’s finally faded… now just a tint, of what is was…
like a stained glass window, it adds colour to my world.
And what I thought to be blood… on the window sill?
It was just the rust, that you’ve now wiped away…
like so many bad memories, swept away… by good ones!
Your death defying dance at my window,
has brought clarity to my life, and now I can see.
I can finally move forward, take bigger steps…
without fear of falling…
hmmm, falling?
Hey, I love your safety lines…
I wonder if you might, leave those behind?
Just in case I need them? I don’t know, what if I… fall….

Look all around, there’s nothin’ but blue skies
Look straight ahead, nothin’ but blue skies

Sure… Yeah, blue skies
Oh I, nearly forgot…
you missed a spot…
down there in the corner!
Oh, jeez?
That’s on the inside?
Sorry, yeah… I guess I need to do a little cleaning of my own…
Can I borrow your brush….

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Here is the rainbow I’ve been prayin’ for
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day
bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day
