What if… the Olympics were in 3D!

What if Weekends: 52 Weeks Project 18/52

Seriously, can you imagine if the Olympics were broadcast in 3D… imagine all the viewers at home reacting to the splash of every dive, or getting ready to catch an athlete about to bounce off the trampoline or jump a hurdle right in to your living room. And I don’t want to even think about Shot put or Javelin throw! There’s a thought… imagine what I could do with that!! 😉

Some people ask where these ideas come from, well, I was listening to an old David Bowie album last week, Station to Station, do you remember the song TVC 15? It was a song Bowie wrote about a holographic TV, TVC 15. In the song, Bowie’s girlfriend crawls into the television and afterwards, he wants to crawl in himself to be with her. The song was based on a drug-induced hallucination that Iggy Pop had about his girlfriend being swallowed by his TV. Anyway, I was thinking about how to do an Illusion on the idea and with my spending so much time watching the Olympics this past week, well… What if the Olympics came hurdling out of your TV… my TVC 15!

This is my What if Weekend Photo Illusion for week 18 of my 52 Weeks Project!
Special thanks to Catherine Mary Clark for participating in another of my Illusions, and to her daughter Marissa Clark and her friend Christine Mao for participating and to Margaret Cameron for your help, and of course to Caitlin the unofficial representative of the Olympic Committee! And thanks to Susan Spidle for helping make it real!

This 52 Week Project is part of a new endeavour of mine I call Photo Illusionism, one photo illusion every week for 52 weeks, check out the web site and “Like” my page on Facebook. And remember, if you want one of your own photo illusions, send me a message and let’s talk… I have 34 more to do!
