It has been a dream to go to Greece and ever since seeing pictures and hearing stories of Santorini I have always wanted to visit. My day began at 5:30 a.m. with a train from Athens to the Port of Piraeus and then a 7 hour Ferry trip to Santorini stopping at the islands of Paros and Naxos. This trip far exceeded my expectations, from an impromptu walk on my first day that turned in to a hike, and eventually found me climbing Skaros Rock (984 ft.), to a planned hike from Imerovigli to Oia that took 4 hours and had me caught in a rain and wind storm at the highest point of the climb, Mavro Vouno (Black Mountain) 1300 ft. These two experiences alone have been two of the most amazing things I’ve ever done. While on the island I visited the villages of Imerovigli, Fira, Oia, Megalochori and Perissa, I hope you enjoy these photos of Part 2 of Wherever I Wander. I have more in depth stories I’d like to tell about the two hikes, but that will come later and I may include some video I shot once I find time to edit it down, I don’t want to bore you too much!
And if you like a story about Serendipity, you’re going to want to read Santorini Serendipity!
